Dr Lauren Lee is a Family GP with a special interest in child health and postpartum mental wellbeing; however all patients from 0-120 years old are welcome!
After completing her medical degree at UCT, Dr Lee gained invaluable experience at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto. This was followed by a year working at a small rural hospital on the North coast of KwaZulu Natal, where she developed a passion for working within the family framework and completed her Diploma in Child Health.
She then followed the mass exodus to London, working in general medicine at The Devon and Exeter Hospital and in paediatrics at The Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. However, her South African blood proved too strong and she returned home to spend 3 dynamic years at The Red Cross Children’s hospital in Cape Town.
In 2006, Dr Lee founded The Health Team with the intention of creating a community of like-minded practitioners that can offer advice on all health-related matters in a warm, nurturing and healing environment. Dr Lee’s medical practice includes managing day-to-day acute illnesses in children and adults as well as addressing the more chronic diseases of lifestyle. She has a strong interest in perinatal mental health and her consultations often include elements of Health Coaching as a tool to support patients in achieving their optimal wellbeing.
She believes that every individual can be supported to achieve their best potential and does her utmost to actualise this.
